SCPTSA 2007-08 Family Engagement Grants

 

The Seattle Council PTSA is pleased to announce and recognize the following local PTA units and their family engagement activities. Thank you to all of the leaders and volunteers whose hard work and dedication bring benefit to their school community.

Aki Kurose PTA

Host a multi-cultural night with food and performances.

Arbor Heights PTSA

Host a family math night using games from the Everyday Math curriculum.

Beacon Hill PTSA

Host PTA Family Involvement Meetings to engage families in planning activities for the new International School.

Chief Sealth PTSA

Host a family engagement night to increase family involvement and provide tools and strategies for high school.

Cleveland PTSA

Assist with mailing costs for a new monthly newsletter.

Dearborn Park PTA

Host a Family Carnival to build community and promote PTA involvement.

Denny Middle School PTSA

Produce a new Spanish-English newsletter for families.

Emerson PTA

Purchase student materials that support therapeutic counseling games

9

Garfield High School PTA

Provide support for the annual Ku' Onesha Awards dinner.

Graham Hill PTA

Host a Heritage Night where families share their culture and traditions through food, clothing, and performances.

Hamilton MS PTSA

Newsletter printing and mailing costs.

John Muir PTA

Host PTA meeting for current and incoming kindergarten families with dinner, activities, and kindergarten readiness materials

Kimball Elementary PTSA

Host family gatherings for bilingual families in preparation for an all-school multi-cultural festival

Leschi PTA

Provide food for Field day event.

Madrona PTSA

Host PTA meetings with parent education topics (personal finance, internet safety, and nutrition) and food provided.

Meany PTSA

Host special PTA meeting with a special guest speaker, food, and childcare and promotion of PTA programs and needs.

Rainier Beach HS PTSA

Promote PTA meeting participation by providing food, childcare &  interpreters

Roxhill PTA

Host  a series of "town meetings" with parents to promote family engagement

Seattle Special Ed PTSA

Expand outreach to families to enable awareness and feedback regarding the SPS Special Education Review and Recommendations

Thurgood Marshall PTSA

Host parent education meeting on the topic “Girls: Socialization and Aggression”.

21

Whitman PTSA

Host an all-school International Potluck with food, student performances, and displays.  multi-cultural night
