Grant requests must briefly describe how the funds will be used to promote family engagement. PTA units may apply more than once but may only receive one grant of up to $300 for the school year. PTA units must be associated with the Seattle Council PTSA. Approximately $10,000 is available for 2008-9 grants. Applications must be signed by your PTA president or authorized representative.

Grants requests will be reviewed and awarded by SCPTSA using the following guidelines:

• How the funds will support family engagement in your community.
• How well the grant supports your PTA�s goals and will help build your PTA�s capacity to support family engagement in the future.

Special consideration will be given to:

•   New and less well-developed PTAs.
• PTAs working with significant numbers of families whose students are bilingual and/or participating in the Free and Reduced Lunch program.

There are currently two funding rounds for 2008-09. The deadline for the 1^st round of applications is Friday, September 26, 2008. The deadline for the 2^nd round is Friday October 31, 2008. There is likely to be a 3^rd round based on available funding and interest.
